Providing a table for the Baby Shower Gifts is something the hostess needs to set up for every shower. As the guests arrive, they will be bringing a gift with them. It is the hostesses responsibility to provide a place to put them. A carefully planned and thoughtfully managed shower takes a lot of preparation. Providing a place for the Baby Shower Gifts is just one of those things to prepare for. Generally close friends, relatives and co-workers can be invited to a baby shower. They will be bringing Baby Shower Gifts for the new mom-to-be. Now let’s see, where do they go when guests arrive? Obviously they go to the new mom-to-be. But, alas, you don't want to just dump them in her lap. No. You, the hostess, needs to find somewhere to put them. The most obvious choice would be a table. Maybe a large card table, coffee table, or whatever. Then you need to decide where to put the table. Probably near the door (if held indoors) so that the guests can put them down as they take off their coats, jackets, etc.
When the guests arrive, make certain that they have an envelope or tag securely attached to the gift. If not, please provide them with a tag or envelope. You want to make sure that mom knows who gave what. Otherwise when it comes time to send out those thank-you notes, see will be totally lost. The last thing the guest of honor needs is some unnecessary frustrations. She has enough of them already that are not preventable. Good! We have that out of the way. Guests, you don't need to get a second job, or break your piggy bank in order to give a suitable baby shower gift. You have numerous choices for inexpensive baby shower gifts that the mother would adore. Read on and check out some low cost gifts that would be great to receive. One example that is inexpensive but very thoughtful. Have a snapshot style picture of the parents to be while they were dating and a recent one for the baby memories book, including other pictures of the family as well. This makes for a wonderful heirloom.
Similarly, purchase a baby bath tub and fill it with little goodies such as all the bath necessities (soap, shampoo, powder, massage oil, lotion etc). You can also include items such as baby nail kits, washcloths and towels, a couple of outfits etc. Wrap the tub up with clear wrapping and decorate. On one hand it is very good inexpensive idea, while on another everything in the baby bath tub will be used by the mother and her baby. Unlike baby clothes, you need not to worry about if the baby is a boy or a girl. Looking for some unique yet inexpensive examples? Give the parents coupons for babysitting. If this is their first child, one free evening or weekend day will be plenty to entertain them. As an added value give them two tickets to the movies at a local theatre. These would be very thoughtful, also giving the parents a night out without looking for a sitter. Be careful with this one though. Sometimes the recipient doesn't quite understand the nature of the gift. My brother gave a similiar gift to our grandmother one christmas several years ago. She didn't quite understand what was going on. It was a little awkward for awhile. So think about the person you are giving this type of gift to. Don't worry too much, most mothers would love to have a gift of this nature. I know that I would have when I was a father with two little ones at home. Oh, the nights that we couldn't go anywhere. My wife would have loved to received a baby shower gift of that nature. Moving on. Another option would be to give a few vouchers and coupons to the guest of honor. This way mom can go shopping when it is convenient for her, and she will be able to get something that wasn't already given. No duplicates this way.
My son is going to have a baby sometime this summer. Guess what? The due date is my birthday. This will be my second grandchild. Oh my, am I getting old or what? Anyway, one of my baby shower gifts to the happy parents will be a diaper cake. Personally, I will be purchasing mine from DiaperCakeDepot. They have a very wide variety and they are reasonably priced. But the best part is that these baby shower gifts are so great looking that most parents don't want to take them apart. The best part is everything on this cake can be used by the parents. Especially the main ingredient. Diapers. What new parent ever has enough of these? I know we never did. And can the baby ever go thru them. Wow. They use a lot of diapers in a day. Anyway, enough from me. Oh, if you want to make your own, directions are on another page listed below.
