The Diaper Candy Bar Game is great fun and acts as a wonderful icebreaker. Here are the rules and how it is played.
Materials needed to play the Diaper Candy Bar Game:
10 large diapers. You can buy any brand – the cheapest will do.
10 candy bars that can be melted without a problem. Stick to chocolate and caramel bars primarily. They can include some fillings but avoid bars that have a wafer center.
10 sheets of paper and 10 pens.
A camera loaded with lots of film.
Rules of the Game:
Melt each of the candy bars into a diaper to make it look like baby poop. You may have to break the bars into small pieces and then melt them to make things easier. Another option is to simply put the bar in a plate and microwave it for a minute. Once melted use a spoon to scoop it into the diaper. Do the same for all 10 bars.
When ‘pooping’ each diaper ensure that you keep track of which diaper has which bar. It is best to number each diaper and make a list of the candy bar ‘pooped’ into it.
Give each guest a paper and a pen.
Start handing out 1 diaper at a time. Ask the guests to write down the candy bar that they think the baby ate before he or she pooped. The guests are only allowed to smell the diaper. They cannot touch or taste it.
Get out the camera and start clicking furiously as each guest puts her nose to a ‘smelly’ diaper!
The Diaper Candy Bar Game is hilarious. The best part is how non-mothers will squirm before they smell the diaper – even though they know it’s just a candy bar and not actual baby poop. They will also probably be shocked by the blasé way in which mothers sniff out the bars.

This game is extremely popular at baby showers because it puts everyone on an equal footing. It doesn’t require any particular talent and doesn’t favor any particular age group or so. This also a good activity to play at co-ed baby showers. Just make sure the men don’t cheat and start licking the poop… err melted candy!
