Baby Shower Thank You Cards

Google

Baby Shower Thank You Cards are the one aspect of babyshowers that involve the mother-to-be along with the hostess. The hostess is pretty much responsible for organizing the entire event. The mother-to-be is expected to kick up her heels and simply have a great time. However, it is the responsibility of both – the hostess and the expecting mother to thank all the guests. Here is a quick guide on everything you need to know about Baby Shower Thank You Cards.

Etiquette:

Carriage Thank You Cards
  • Every guest must receive a baby shower thank you card from the expecting mother. The hostess can simply thank the guest for coming and leave it at that. However, the expecting mother must send a note to acknowledge the gifts she was given.

  • They should be sent immediately after the party. The only exception would be in cases where the mother to be delivers immediately after. In such cases, the notes can be sent along with the birth announcements within three months of the shower.

  • The cards should be handwritten. Do not computer print a generic message on all the cards. The guest has taken special care in selecting the gift. Equal amount of thought should be given to the baby shower thank you cards. It is always nice to mention the gift given to further personalize the note.

    Designs and ideas:

  • The cards can be really simple. They do not need to be printed or formally sent like they would for a wedding. A heartfelt note from the mother to be is all that is required. You can use simple cards with baby motifs or anything that reflects your personality.

  • Alternately, some expectant mothers like to go the extra mile and use photographs from the party as Baby Shower Thank You Cards. This is a super idea and extremely thoughtful.

  • Another great idea that significantly reduces work for the expecting mother is this: The hostess hands out envelopes to all the guests as they come in. Before they leave, each of the guests writes out his or her address on the envelope and drops it in a bowl. After the babyshower is over, the hostess simply inserts a card in each of the envelopes or gives the mother-to-be a set of baby shower thank you cards along with the pre-addressed envelopes. This is a really thoughtful gesture and takes a great load off the mother’s shoulders.

Whether you choose simple Baby Shower Thank You Cards or elaborate ones the point is to make sure you do send a note. Sometimes in our quest to write the perfect note we forget to send one altogether! However, remember that an imperfect sincerely written note is better than a perfect note that never got written.
