Make Your Own
Baby Shower Footprint Invitation

Google

A Baby Shower Footprint Invitation is practically guaranteed to have all the women who receive it oohing and aahing over the pitter-patter of tiny feet.

Additionally, making your own invitations is extremely easy and economical to boot. Here are 2 recipes for making beautiful Footprint Invitations at home.

Baby Shower Footprint Invitation 1: Tiny Toes

Materials: Gold or silver double sided craft paper, ribbon the color of your choice, butter paper, gold or silver stars.

Method: Draw out tiny baby feet on the craft paper and the butter paper and cut them out. Make sure all the baby feet are of the same size. It is important to use double sided craft paper which is colored on both sides so you can simply flip a footprint to get left and right feet. If you buy single sided craft paper you will need to draw out left feet and right feet separately.

Place a butter paper on each foot and then tie one left foot and one right foot together with a ribbon. Write the details of the baby shower on the backs of the feet. Stick a few stars at random under and over the butter paper to add a dash of whimsy.

Your Baby Shower Footprint Invitation is ready!

Variations: You can cut out a pair of feet jointly also to reduce the work involved. For twin baby showers use different colors of craft paper to represent multiple babies.

Baby Shower Footprint Invitation 2:
Walk With Me

Materials: A potato, a carving knife, black paint, paintbrush, craft paper or blank invitation cards.

Method: Cut the potato into half. Using the carving knife, carve a left baby foot on one half of the flat portion of the potato and a right baby foot on the other half. You have created potato stamps of baby feet. When carving keep in mind that the raised portion must represent the baby’s feet and the depressed portion is the extra space that is not to be printed.

Dip each foot in black paint and ‘walk’ across the craft paper or blank invitations in the pattern of your choice. You could ‘walk’ at the bottom of the invite or the top. You could ‘walk’ all around it or in typical baby fashion all over the place with no pattern at all!

Write the details of the invitation on the inside of the card using colorful felt pens or markers.

Both the above Baby Shower Footprint Invitation designs are very easy to make. If you prefer to buy your baby shower footprint invitations you should be able to pick them up at any stationary store easily. Baby footprints make for a great theme for the baby shower as well!
