3 Variations On
Baby Shower Bingo

Google

Baby Shower Bingo is one of the most popular babyshower activities. Since all the guests are already familiar with the activity they are more than eager to participate. Also the activity works well for women of all ages – young and old and also for co-ed parties. There are many different variations to this particular activity. Some are more work for the planner than others so depending on how much effort you want to spend you can make a choice.

Variation 1: Gift Bingo

Get a set of empty bingo cards. Give each guest one card and a pen and ask them to fill out the items that they think the mother-to-be will receive as gifts during the shower. Once the gift opening ceremony begins ask each guest to mark out her card. The guest who calls out ‘Bingo’ first wins.

Level of difficulty: Zero. This Baby Shower Bingo variation is very easy to plan for the hostess. She just needs to hand out empty cards. It also works very well for large parties since making special cards for 30-40 guests can be a tiresome job.

Miscellaneous:

  • Ask each guest to fill in only as many items as there are guests. So if you are having a party for just 8 people not including the mother-to-be, then ask the guests to fill in 8 items on the card and not 15. If you are organizing a large party of 30-40 guests then let each guest fill out 20 odd items and give out multiple prizes.
  • You can print the blank cards on paper that has a baby theme border or is printed with baby shower theme items. It will make the baby shower bingo cards look cuter and put the guests in the right mood for the game.
  • Make sure the person designated to write down the list of gifts and giver’s name does not get so involved in the activity that she forgets to do her job. The mother-to-be won’t be very thrilled if that happens!

    Variation 2:

This is closer to the traditional. Create a set of baby shower bingo cards using baby related items and things. You will need as many cards as you have invited guests. Also make chits, each with the name of one of the items. Put all the chits into a bowl and let the mother-to-be do the honors. The guest to call out ‘bingo’ first wins.

Level of difficulty: High. The hostess will have to make each of the Baby Shower Bingo cards and the chits. Of course, there are many websites online that offer you free printable cards so that can considerably reduce the amount of work involved.

    Miscellaneous:

  • You can choose to leave some squares blank and insert them with baby related pictures.
  • You could play with baby names instead of baby related items.

    Variation 3:

This one is less Baby Shower Bingo and more a prank pulled on the mother-to-be. Pass out cards to all the guests. Give one card to the mother-to-be with all the items listed on it. Tell the mother-to-be that she gets to be the announcer. Except in this case she has to enact all the items and make the guests guess what each item is. It is a combination of playing dumb charades and Baby Shower Bingo.

Now the real trick is that the cards passed to the guests are actually empty. Only the mother-to-be’s card has items listed on it and nobody calls ‘bingo’ till she has run through the entire card. Watching the mother enact ‘baby poop’ and ‘burp’ is hilarious.

Level of difficulty: Low. Just one card to be made with lots of naughty baby related items and words on it.
